Talking Tragedy: In this session, we will explore some of the causes of the tragedy in Shakespeare’s Othello by bringing the play’s characters and language to life. The workshop will feature a variety of activities and techniques that will help you unlock the text and appreciate its language by actually getting up and doing Shakespeare. No previous knowledge or experience is necessary, and all are welcome!
主講人:Duncan Lees 是英語語言文化學(xué)院英美文學(xué)副教授。他在華威(英國)大學(xué)獲得學(xué)士和碩士學(xué)位。2004年至今,他一直在我校任教,主講戲劇和文學(xué)課程。同時,他為大眾,包括兒童,舉辦莎士比亞及其他戲劇工作坊,經(jīng)驗豐富。Duncan目前正在伯明翰大學(xué)的莎士比亞學(xué)院深造。
Self introduction:
Duncan Lees is Assistant Professor of British and American Literature in the Faculty of English Language and Culture (FELC). He has worked at GDUFS since 2004, following his completion of a BA and MA at the University of Warwick (UK). He teaches a variety of drama and literature courses for the FELC, and also has extensive experience of delivering Shakespeare and other drama workshops for members of the public, including children. Duncan is currently completing an additional postgraduate qualification in Shakespeare and Education with the University of Birmingham’s Shakespeare Institute.
