六十載薪火相傳，一甲子風華正茂。2025年11月22日，廣東外語外貿大學將迎來60華誕，這是學校發展史上的重要里程碑。在此，我們謹向長期以來關心支持廣外建設與發展的各級領導、海內外校友、社會各界人士，向全體師生員工、離退休老同志致以衷心的感謝和崇高的敬意！

憶往昔，廣外因外而生，特色鮮明，底蘊深厚。1965年因應國家外交事業發展需要，廣州外國語學院扎根南粵。1980年伴隨改革開放的時代大潮，廣州對外貿易學院應運而生。1995年兩所學校強強聯合，組建廣東外語外貿大學。2008年廣東財經職業學院劃入廣外。六十年來，學校始終與黨和國家同向同行，與時代發展同頻共振，積淀了深厚的紅色基因和文化底蘊，擔負起歷史賦予的光榮使命和重大責任，在人才培養、科學研究、社會服務、文化傳承創新、國際交流合作等方面，展現廣外擔當，貢獻廣外力量。

看今朝，廣外因外而興，踔厲奮發，勇立潮頭。學校始終秉承“明德尚行、學貫中西”的校訓精神，大力弘揚“卓越、誠信、包容、自信”的價值觀，積極涵養“進德、修業、務實、致遠”的學風，為黨和國家培養了30余萬復合型創新型國際化人才，在服務對外工作大局中提供有力的人才和智力支撐。面對教育強國建設的新要求和高等教育發展的新形勢，學校緊緊圍繞“國家所需、未來所向、灣區所急、廣外所能”，全力推進高水平大學建設，充分發揮國際化辦學特色優勢，自覺擔當涉外人才培養的引領者、服務對外開放戰略的貢獻者、中外文明交流互鑒的推動者。

向未來，廣外因外而強，奮楫揚帆，卓越遠航。面對中華民族偉大復興戰略全局、世界百年未有之大變局，學校將始終牢記為黨育人、為國育才初心使命，認真落實立德樹人根本任務，矢志追求卓越，奮力爭創一流，以服務國家重大戰略為己任，聚焦高水平對外開放，著力打造特色鮮明、優勢突出的國際化人才培養主陣地和區域國別學、全球治理、涉外法治、中華文化國際傳播、語言與人工智能等學科建設新高地，努力為推進中國式現代化建設作出新的更大貢獻，在“強國建設，廣外何為”的答卷中續寫光榮與夢想。

禮贊致敬六秩榮光，攜手共譜未來華章。學校將以“六秩榮光、再譜華章”為主題，舉辦建校60周年系列活動。我們誠摯邀請各級領導、四海校友、中外賓朋齊聚廣外，暢敘情誼，共襄盛舉，擘畫未來！

(First Notice)

Sixty years of steadfast dedication, a full cycle of flourishing excellence. On November 22, 2025, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) will mark its 60th anniversary—a significant milestone in the university’s history. In celebration of this occasion, we extend our sincere gratitude and highest respect to the leadersat all levels, our alumni at home and abroad, friends from all walks of life, and our faculty, staff, students, and retired colleagues for their longstanding support and dedication to the growth and advancement of GDUFS.

Looking back on our history,GDUFSwas established with a distinctive mission to serve international needs, characterized by unique strengths and a rich foundation. In 1965, Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Languages was founded in the southern cosmopolitan city of Guangzhou in response to the country’s need for foreign service. In 1980, Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Trade was founded amid China’s early phase of reform and opening-up. In 1995, the two institutions merged into the current form, with Guangdong College of Finance and Economics incorporated into the university in 2008. Over the past sixty years, the university has advanced in step with the Party and the nation, keeping pace with the times. With a richrevolutionary traditionand culturalheritage, it has embraced the noble mission and critical responsibilities bestowed by history. Through student education, research, social service, cultural inheritance and innovation, and international exchange and cooperation, GDUFS has demonstrated its commitment and made lasting contributions.

Looking to the present,GDUFS continues to flourish as an institution rooted in its international mission, forging ahead with vigor and standing at the forefront of higher education. Embracing the values of excellence,honesty, inclusiveness and self-confidence, GDUFS is dedicated to its motto “Pursuit of Integrity, Practice and Cross-cultural Learning”, fostering in every student an academic ethos of virtue, diligence, practicality, and noble ambition. The university has nurtured over 300,000 multidisciplinary, innovative, and internationally oriented professionals for the Party and the nation, providing valuable intellectual and talent support for China’s foreign-related endeavors. In response to the new demands of empowering the nation through education and the evolving landscape of higher education, GDUFS aligns its focus with national needs, future trends, the development priorities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the university’s unique strengths, while further solidifying its reputation as a highly respected university with academic distinction. Leveraging its distinct advantages in internationalization, GDUFS takes on its role as a leader in foreign-related student education, a contributor to opening up, and a facilitator of cross-cultural exchange and mutual learning.

Looking to the future, GDUFS continues to grow stronger through its international focus and is poised to embark on anew journey of sustained excellence. In light of China’s grand plan for national rejuvenation amid global changes of a magnitude not seen in a century, the university firmly upholds its founding mission of nurturing talent for the Party and the nation, fulfilling the fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education, and relentlessly pursuing excellence. By aligning with key national strategic priorities and supporting high-level international engagement, GDUFS aims to be a leading institution for cultivating internationally-oriented talent with distinctive strengths and competencies, as well as a pioneering base for area studies, global governance, foreign-related rule of law, international communication of Chinese culture, and the integration of language and artificial intelligence.The university will make more and greater contributions to Chinese modernization, continuing to write its legacy of glory and dreams in the ongoing journey of national strength.
